Nature, Geometry, Love.
By Matt Goad
For me Mother Nature is the greatest inspiration. Trying to mimic her is virtually impossible. Even the greatest of painters, sculptures, architects, composers and programmers that have come close have fallen short. They may have perfected the form, composition and color, but there’s always that elusive feature impossible to capture: scale.
So is Mother Nature a worthy muse?
My goal with this series of paintings is not to represent Nature as she really is, but rather to tell mini-stories about her. Love stories. And do so with the familiar lines and geometric shapes of the modern city world. Be it a tribute to where we all owe our existence, or a unique look at what we all too often overlook. If I’ve accomplished either I will have succeeded. If I’ve made you think, smile, or frown that is a bonus.
Here’s to you Nature. You’re one beautiful and crazy Mother.
